The three coffee cups

The three coffee cups feel almost like three versions of me. Some days I’m calm and composed like the Abstract cup, simple, balanced, and quietly confident. Other days, I drift into Surrealism, lost in thoughts and daydreams, where even an ordinary coffee break feels cinematic and emotional. And then there are the Expressionist days, messy, intense, restless, fuelled by late nights, deadlines, and strong coffee. I realised the way I drink coffee changes with my mood too: sometimes slow and comforting, sometimes imaginative and nostalgic, sometimes urgent like survival in a cup. That’s what made the coffee cup feel so personal to illustrate; it became less of an object and more of a reflection of my emotional states.
